Lama Surya Das - Buddha is as Buddha Does

A one hour book talk with Lama Surya Das on one of his recent books (the most recent one that I own), Buddha is as Buddha Does (2008) - the video comes courtesy of FORA.tv.

Lama Surya Das talks about Buddha is as Buddha Does: The Ten Original Practices for Enlightened Living.

The Buddha realized that each person is inherently perfect with the capacity to overcome suffering and transform themselves into forces for good. In this book, a celebrated teacher presents the Buddha's core principles in an accessible style for modern readers - Book Passage

Surya Das is one of the foremost Western Buddhist meditation teachers and scholars. Born Jeffrey Miller, he was raised in Valley Stream on New York's Long Island, where he celebrated his bar mitzvah and earned letters in basketball, baseball, and soccer at Valley Stream Central High School (class of 1968). While a student at the State University of New York at Buffalo, he attended antiwar protests, marched on Washington, and attended Woodstock. After graduating with honors from college, he traveled throughout Europe and the East, and he has spent nearly thirty years studying Zen, vipassana, yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism with many of the great old masters of Asia.
