Neurobiology of We part 9 of 9

August 9th, 2009

Speakers: Natalie Goldberg, Roshi Joan Halifax, Daniel Siegel, MD

Natalie Goldberg illustrates mindfulness through literature with a short reading by poet Jimmy Santiago Baca. Dan continues discussing the various domains of integration necessary in a healthy, secure person. He emphasizes that the purpose of integration is to move fluidly between peaks, valleys, probabilities and openness. Having a coherent, integrated story is indicative of integrated brain circuitry. If we can make sense of our life story, we become more equipped to alleviate suffering.
